Sean Crumby is Irvines New City Manager
Sean Crumby was appointed Irvine’s City Manager on October 28, 2025, following a unanimous vote by the City Council. With over three decades of executive leadership in municipal government, Crumby previously served as interim City Manager after Oliver Chi's transition to Santa Monica. He joined the city in April 2023 as the inaugural Director of Project Delivery & Sustainability, overseeing significant projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Under his leadership, the city initiated noteworthy projects, including converting City Hall's parking lots into solar power facilities and accelerating the construction of a new Animal Care Center. Additionally, a pedestrian and bicycle bridge linking the Jeffrey Open Space Trail's north and south legs is also underway.
Mayor Larry Agran praised Crumby for his strong leadership and commitment to high-quality community projects. Crumby expressed his gratitude for the City Council's confidence and emphasized his dedication to enhancing Irvine's quality of life.
