Free Irvine CONNECT Shuttle Bus Has Expanded Routes
The City of Irvine has made its free shuttle bus service a permanent fixture in response to rising popularity and ridership. The Irvine CONNECT shuttle now features expanded routes that better connect residents to essential locations such as parks, schools, and shopping centers. Mayor Larry Agran emphasized the shuttle's significance in tackling traffic congestion and offering reliable transportation options for both students and seniors. Operating hours are weekdays from 6 a. m.
to 8 p. m. and weekends from 8 a. m. to 10 p.
m. , with shuttles arriving every 20 minutes. The buses are equipped with bike racks and accessible for individuals with mobility aids, and riders benefit from free Wi-Fi. Passengers can also track shuttle locations in real-time through a dedicated app. The service aims to encourage public transit use, particularly among those who prefer not to drive.
