AGs Office launches new reporting web site

Goldendale, WALocal News

Last Thursday, the Washington Attorney General's Office launched a new reporting tool for sexual assault survivors, in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The website, www. seekthenspeakwa. com, serves as a comprehensive resource for survivors, enabling them to report incidents to law enforcement in a setting that feels safe. Attorney General Nick Brown highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating that it aims to ensure survivors do not feel isolated in their experiences.

The Sexual Assault Support Team has successfully tested over 10,000 unsubmitted sexual assault kits, playing a crucial role in solving cold cases. Additionally, the Sexually Violent Predator Unit focuses on the civil commitment of violent offenders, protecting communities from potential threats. Recent legislative support has strengthened supervision processes for offenders after their release. This initiative reflects a broader commitment to justice and resources for survivors of sexual violence in Washington. The collaborative effort underscores the importance of addressing sexual violence and providing necessary support systems.
