Seeking Volunteers for ForAgainst Committee

Goldendale, WALocal News

Goldendale is recruiting volunteers for a For/Against Committee to discuss a public safety sales tax measure ahead of the November 4, 2025 election. The proposed measure entails a sales tax increase of one-tenth of one percent, which translates to an additional $0. 10 for every $100 spent. Funds collected will be allocated between the Goldendale Police Department and the Goldendale Fire Department to enhance local public safety. Committee members will collaborate on a 250-word argument supporting the measure and a 75-word rebuttal to counter opposing arguments.

The names of participating voters will be published in the Klickitat County Voters Pamphlet. This initiative aims to engage the community in critical discussions regarding public safety funding. Interested individuals should reach out to City Administrator Sandy Wells at 509-773-3771 or communications@ci. goldendale. wa.

us for more details. Community participation in this committee could significantly influence local public safety funding and services.
