Fort Worth, TXLocal News

The "52 Faces of Community" initiative recognizes unsung heroes in Tarrant County who significantly improve the lives of those around them. Sponsored by Central Market, H-E-B, and JPS Health Network, the program encourages community members to submit nominations throughout 2025. Local non-profits, churches, schools, and organizations can propose candidates, and an editorial committee will select 52 honorees for weekly profiles. Each article will feature a photo and highlight the honoree's contributions, culminating in a recognition luncheon at the end of the year. Ten selected heroes will be honored at this event, with one individual chosen to represent Tarrant County at the prestigious Jefferson Awards in Washington, D.

C. The Jefferson Awards, established over 50 years ago by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, aim to celebrate individuals who dedicate their lives to helping others and improving their communities. This initiative not only acknowledges local heroes but also inspires others to engage in community service. The program reflects the critical role of grassroots efforts in fostering community well-being and connectivity.
