The City of Fort Worth will close most of its offices on January 20, 2025, in observance of Martin Luther King Day, including City Hall. Emergency services will be available as usual, ensuring public safety during the holiday. Solid waste collections will not change, allowing residents to continue their regular disposal routines without any disruption. However, the city’s four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed, limiting options for residents needing to dispose of items. Libraries across Fort Worth will also be closed for the day, affecting access to public resources.

Recreational facilities such as community centers and Haws Athletic Center will not be open, although municipal golf courses and the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge will welcome visitors. Residents can access the Water Department's automated system for payments and inquiries through a 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477. Additionally, Trinity Metro will operate on a modified schedule, ensuring that public transportation remains available for those in need.
