See your ideas take shape with the library's 3D printers

Fort Worth, TXLocal News

The Fort Worth Public Library has launched a free 3D printing service at its 18 branches, opening up new creative possibilities for residents. Local resident Leigh Ann Bradley, who has severe arthritis, found great utility in the library’s 3D printers, creating adaptive tools that simplify her daily activities. The library provides support from trained staff, making the technology accessible to both adults and children. Users can create everything from adaptive devices to figurines, with resources like Thingiverse available for pre-made designs. The library is also hosting a CAD contest for teens, encouraging them to design and print a bridge, further engaging youth in technology.

Christina Granados, the library's teen program coordinator, emphasizes the educational benefits of 3D printing for younger patrons. This initiative not only empowers individuals with disabilities but also fosters a culture of innovation and learning within the community. The Fort Worth Public Library continues to enhance its offerings, demonstrating the importance of accessible technology in everyday life.
