Juneteenth celebration in Fayetteville to feature food, music, games and a message of unity

Fayetteville will host a Juneteenth celebration on Thursday, organized by the NWA Center for Sexual Assault and Let’s Talk NWA, focused on freedom and community unity. The event will take place from 4 to 9 p. m. at Spring Shop Studios and is free for the public. Attendees can enjoy traditional food, music, and games while connecting with outreach groups that address domestic and sexual violence in the Black community.

Cameron Alcorn from Let’s Talk NWA emphasized the importance of creating familial connections through this event. Guest speakers, raffles, and nonprofit booths will provide resources and information to participants. Organizers aim to break cycles of violence while celebrating the significance of Juneteenth. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to address and combat issues affecting the Black community. Such events highlight the importance of cultural celebrations as platforms for community activism.
