Booneville, Paris, Waldron hospitals add to Mercys award-winning year
Three Mercy hospitals in Booneville, Paris, and Waldron received 2025 Performance Leadership Awards, showcasing their excellence in rural healthcare. The Chartis Center for Rural Health recognized these facilities for ranking in the top quartile nationwide in quality, patient experience, and outcomes. Booneville and Waldron earned awards for clinical quality, while Paris excelled in patient experience and outcomes. This recognition builds on Mercy Hospital Paris's previous accolade as the only Arkansas critical access hospital on the Chartis Top 100 list for 2025, which ranks the best-performing critical access hospitals based on publicly reported data. Furthermore, Mercy was named the top large health system in the U.
S. for patient experience by NRC Health, continuing a four-year streak. The multi-state Mercy network includes 55 hospitals and over 1,000 outpatient sites across several states. Recent significant investments include a $186 million expansion at Mercy Fort Smith and the initiation of a $55 million cancer center to enhance local oncology services. The Performance Leadership Awards are announced annually during National Rural Health Day, underscoring the importance of rural healthcare.
