From Keith Haring to Grandma Moses, museums roll out 2026 programming
Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Momentary unveiled their 2026 exhibition lineup, showcasing American identity and cultural expansion. Crystal Bridges will feature three major exhibitions, starting with "America 250: Common Threads" on March 14, recognizing 250 years since the Declaration of Independence. This exhibition will include historic documents and live quilting demonstrations by Arkansas quilters. The Momentary will host two summer exhibitions, one by Lucy Sparrow, who will transform the gallery into a felt recreation of a 1980s supermarket, and another focusing on artist Chuck Ramirez's photographs of everyday consumer goods. In June, Crystal Bridges will present "Keith Haring in 3D," highlighting Haring's three-dimensional works.
The fall exhibition "Grandma Moses: A Good Day’s Work" opens on September 12, featuring about 80 paintings and exploring the artist's legacy. Crystal Bridges is also preparing for a significant expansion, increasing its size by 50 percent, with a grand opening planned for June 6-7, 2026. The announcement coincides with the museum's 15th anniversary and includes a global debut of Jewel's visual art exhibition at the Venice Biennale.
