The University of Arkansas–Fort Smith has taken a significant step in manufacturing education by installing new robotics and automation systems in its Advanced Manufacturing Lab. Funded by over $5. 7 million in HIRED grants from the Arkansas Division of Higher Education and the Department of Commerce, the upgrades include two FAS-200 automated assembly systems and three ABB Cobot FlexTrainers. These systems will allow students to gain hands-on experience with real-world industrial processes. Dr.

In addition to robotics, the lab has recently incorporated technology for additive manufacturing and quality assurance. The next phase will introduce two RTS-200 robotics training systems and further Industry 4. 0 technologies, enhancing training opportunities. This investment not only supports student mobility but also aims to drive economic growth in the region.

UAFS's advancements solidify its role as a regional leader in preparing students for modern manufacturing careers.
