UAFS brings transfer road show to UACCM to boost college completion

On Oct. 22, representatives from the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith (UAFS) will visit the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton as part of their “Transfer with Pride” road show. This event connects students with information about transferring to UAFS, academic programs, and financial aid opportunities. Attendees will enjoy a complimentary lunch while learning about pathways to bachelor’s degrees and available support services. A key highlight will be UAFS's Smart Choice Tuition Waiver, offering up to $9,000 in tuition discounts for eligible transfer students starting in fall 2025.

To qualify, students must transfer at least 30 credit hours and meet UAFS admissions standards. This initiative addresses concerning statistics indicating that 21% of Arkansans have some college experience but no degree, which is higher than the national average. UAFS’s commitment to enhancing college completion rates aims to empower students and stimulate economic growth in the River Valley. Brooke Magallanes, UAFS’s associate vice chancellor for Enrollment, emphasizes the importance of supporting the community's educational needs.
