For the fourth consecutive year, Mercy Health System was recognized as the top large health system in the U. S. for patient experience by NRC Health. This award, based on patient feedback collected from April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, highlights Mercy's commitment to quality care. Mercy Fort Smith recently completed a $186 million expansion of its emergency department and intensive care units, aimed at improving patient access and care quality.

Dr. John Mohart stated that providing an excellent patient experience involves the entire team, from clinical staff to volunteers. NRC Health selects award recipients based on real-time patient ratings, including recommendations. In addition to the Fort Smith expansion, Mercy Northwest Arkansas celebrated its 75th anniversary and announced a $700 million affiliation agreement to enhance healthcare access in the region.
