Harps brings fresh flavor, familiar faces to Chaffee Crossing

Harps Food Stores inaugurated its 160th location in Fort Smith on October 8, 2025, at 6400 Veterans Ave. The 39,000-square-foot facility offers a diverse range of fresh produce, including organic options, alongside USDA Prime beef and a full-service deli. CEO Kim Eskew noted that the decision to open the store was influenced by the area's population growth, making it viable for success. Eskew, who began his journey with Harps in 1982, expressed a deep personal connection to Fort Smith, describing the store as an extension of the Harps family. The new location also features a Harps Express gas station and operates from 7 a.

m. to 10 p. m. daily, providing convenient shopping options. Customers can take advantage of curbside pickup and home delivery services, enhancing accessibility.

Founded in 1930, Harps has become the largest employee-owned grocery chain in Arkansas, operating 159 stores across multiple states. The store aims to meet the needs of the rapidly growing Chaffee Crossing community.
