Fort Smith, ARLocal News

The Fayetteville Police Department confirmed that no active threats exist at the University of Arkansas after investigating multiple reports of an active shooter. The police found no evidence of such a threat, and classes for Monday have been canceled, allowing students to leave campus freely. Freshman Michael Kittell described the confusion he and others felt upon receiving the alert while in Mullins Library, noting they heard no gunfire but only yelling. Authorities stated that there were multiple calls to 911 but "nothing confirmed" regarding injuries or confirmed gunshots. Police continue to assist students who may still be sheltering, while some Fayetteville schools remain under lockdown.

The RazAlert system issued a warning to avoid the area around Mullins Library earlier in the afternoon. UAPD is leading the investigation, and as of 1 p. m. , no injuries had been reported. The situation highlights ongoing concerns about campus safety and emergency response protocols.
