Suspect arrested in Logan County shooting

Derik Brady, 43, was arrested in Logan County on August 22, charged with battery in the first degree and felon in possession of a firearm related to a shooting that occurred on August 19. The shooting victim, currently in stable condition at a hospital, and a witness identified Brady shortly after the incident. Police searched his residence but did not find him there. They later located Brady at a Scott County residence, where he was taken into custody. Following his arrest, Brady was interviewed by Logan County Sheriff’s Office Lt.

Mark Walker and an Arkansas State Police special agent. He is now being held at the Logan County Detention Center. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about gun violence and public safety in the region. Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
