Fort Smith, ARLocal News

James Andrew McGann has been arrested for the murders of Clinton and Cristen Binks at Devil's Den State Park, where their daughters, aged 7 and 9, witnessed the attack. The Arkansas State Police reported that the children provided essential information, leading to the investigation's progress. DNA evidence from McGann's Kia Stinger matched samples collected at the crime scene, and he has admitted to the killings. The prosecutor stated that the death penalty will not be waived in this case. Investigators received around 500 public tips, including images and videos, which helped form a detailed suspect description.

The police identified McGann through tips about his vehicle and apprehended him at a barbershop in Springdale. Maj. Stacie Rhoads emphasized the importance of the children's testimony and the careful approach taken by investigators. This tragic event has drawn significant attention and raised concerns about safety in local parks.
