Traffic, time slots, team spirit UAFS prepares for student move-in days

The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith (UAFS) will welcome hundreds of new and returning students during move-in events on Aug. 13 and 15, with early arrivals starting on Aug. 8. Volunteers from "Numa's Move-In Crew" will assist families at the Lion’s Den and Sebastian Commons to ease the process. First-year students attending Cub Camp will arrive on Aug.

13 from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. , while general student move-in will occur on Aug.

15 during the same hours. A complimentary cookout lunch will be offered on Aug. 13, enhancing the welcoming experience. To combat traffic congestion, UAFS has assigned specific time slots for student arrivals, with detailed parking and traffic instructions sent via email. Fort Smith residents should expect increased traffic near the campus, especially along Waldron Road and Grand Avenue.

The move-in events reflect UAFS's commitment to a smooth transition for students as they begin the academic year. Additional resources, including a packing checklist, are available online for students and families.
