Fort Smith, ARLocal News

Arkansas native Nathan Kousol embarked on his K-pop journey, facing eight years of challenges before gaining recognition through YouTube. He recently joined 1verse, a K-pop group that is notable for including North Korean defectors, and is set to debut at the K-pop Fest in California this August. Nathan struggled to stand out in a competitive field, but a chance encounter with a bandmate led to an audition opportunity in South Korea. Leaving behind his family and life in Arkansas, he embraced the move to pursue his passion for music. In 1verse, Nathan collaborates with fellow members Hyuk, Seok, Aito, and Kenny, as they establish their roles within the group.

Despite the rigorous training, Nathan feels supported by his teammates, who have been instrumental in his adjustment. Their first showcase solidified Nathan's dream of being on stage in front of an audience. His journey illustrates the importance of perseverance and following one's passions, regardless of the obstacles faced.
