WWII bombers Doc and Yellow Rose to land in Fayetteville for rare aviation event
The B-29 "Doc" and B-25 "Yellow Rose" will land in Fayetteville, Arkansas, for a special aviation event from August 15-17. Hosted by the Arkansas Air and Military Museum, the event will feature cockpit tours, ground displays, and flight experiences, providing a rare opportunity to engage with these historic aircraft. "Doc" is one of only two remaining airworthy B-29s, constructed in 1944 and restored after years of neglect. The B-25 "Yellow Rose," known for its participation in the Doolittle Raid, is one of just 34 still in operation. Admission for cockpit tours is priced at $20 for adults and $15 for children, with discounts available for veterans.
This event celebrates the bravery of WWII veterans and the legacy of aviation history. “These aircraft are more than machines. They are symbols of courage and innovation that continue to inspire," said Josh Wells, executive director of B-29 Doc. The Arkansas Air and Military Museum, founded in 1986, serves as a vital institution for preserving the state’s aviation heritage.
