James Andrew McGann, 28, was arrested on July 30, 2025, for the double murder of Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas. The couple's two daughters, aged 7 and 9, witnessed the attack but were unharmed and are currently with relatives. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders praised law enforcement for their prompt action, asserting that violent crime is not tolerated in the state. Arkansas State Police Colonel Mike Hagar highlighted the collaboration among local, state, and federal agencies that led to the suspect's capture. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the killings, which are deemed unprecedented in Arkansas state parks.

The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism reassured the public that such violent crimes are rare in these areas.
