Police fear for safety of missing Arkansas women amid discoveries

Fort Smith, ARLocal News

Robyn DeSort, 34, and Denise Rhodes, 59, have been missing since July 8, leading police to express concerns for their well-being. The women were last seen heading towards Eureka Springs, but DeSort's GMC Yukon was later found abandoned near Bauxite. Just days after their disappearance, Rhodes' home was destroyed by a fire, adding to the mystery surrounding the case. DeSort's husband entered a plea deal related to a past kidnapping incident, which raises questions about his involvement. Meanwhile, Rhodes' husband, who is in prison, has not had contact with her for several weeks.

The Saline County Sheriff's Office has urged the public to provide any information that could assist in locating the missing women. DeSort's alarming Facebook post prior to her disappearance hinted at severe distress and threats to her life. Local authorities are actively investigating the case, emphasizing its urgency.
