Fort Smith, ARSports

Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman endorsed KJ Jackson as the future starting quarterback, expressing strong confidence in his abilities. Jackson, who will serve as Taylen Green's backup, remains the only returning quarterback after Malachi Singleton transferred to Purdue and Madden Iamaleava to UCLA. Pittman mentioned the team's discussions about Jackson's encouraging development during SEC Media Days, indicating a commitment to him as the future leader. Jackson expressed appreciation for Pittman's support and emphasized the valuable experience he gains from working with senior players and coaches. He had a brief appearance last season, completing four passes in the opener.

This spring, Jackson showed improvement, completing 13-of-18 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns in a scrimmage. The Razorbacks aim to provide Jackson with more game opportunities this year to prepare for the future. Newcomers Trever Jackson and Grayson Wilson will also compete for the starting role, but Pittman's remarks suggest they have work to do to catch up.
