Parrot Island Waterpark in Fort Smith will host the World’s Largest Swim Lesson on June 26, offering free swim safety lessons to children ages 3-17 and their parents. The event runs from 8:30 to 10 a. m. and aims to reduce drowning, the second leading cause of injury-related death among children, by equipping families with essential skills. Drew Peterson, the general manager, stated that the event highlights the importance of swim safety and builds confidence in water.

More than 600 facilities worldwide will participate, providing over 20,000 hours of swim instruction in one day. Organizers expect over 40,000 participants across 19 countries to join this global initiative. The World Waterpark Association founded the event in 2010 to promote safer water practices and the importance of learning to swim. This initiative serves as a crucial platform for educating families on water safety. For registration, interested families can contact Parrot Island Waterpark or visit their website.
