Forsgren Park in Bothell reopened its playground after a $610,000 renovation aimed at enhancing accessibility and inclusivity. Finished in May 2025, the revamped playground features structures and elements designed for children aged 2 to 12, with a focus on exceeding accessibility standards. Community feedback from over 600 residents shaped the design, particularly emphasizing the need for accessible surfacing. Notable features include sensory play elements and a communication board, marking a new standard for playgrounds in the area. County officials acknowledged the importance of these upgrades for local families, emphasizing that they are a direct result of community engagement.

The Parks team plans to continue similar renovations across the county, with a focus on creating welcoming spaces for all.
