City of Everett announces temporary reinstatement of Cultural Arts Grants for 2025

Everett, WALocal News

The City of Everett reinstates its Cultural Arts Grant program for 2025, offering five grants of $5,000 each to support free arts initiatives within the community. This decision follows a temporary suspension of the program after the failure of Proposition 1, a property tax levy measure, during the August 2024 election. With a one-time allocation of $25,000 from City Councilmember Judy Tuohy’s COVID-19 recovery funds, applications will be accepted from May 1 to May 31, 2025. Funded projects must be free and open to the public, focusing on serving Everett residents. Eligible programs include community concerts, arts education, and public art projects.

Mayor Cassie Franklin highlighted the arts' significance to the city's identity and economic vitality. The Cultural Arts Grant program has supported various initiatives, including instrument repair for low-income students. For more details, applicants can visit everettwa. gov/artsgrants.
