Everett is celebrating National Bike Month by encouraging community members to embrace cycling as a viable transportation option. The month-long initiative includes social media challenges and culminates in a community event at Everett Station on May 16 from 3 to 6 p. m. Mayor Cassie Franklin emphasized the importance of biking for both recreation and transportation, outlining the city’s commitment to enhanced road safety. Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists, stated that investments in cycling infrastructure yield significant public health and economic returns.

The Bike Month celebration will feature safety checks, small repairs, and games to engage participants. Additionally, the city offers resources such as a Master Parks Map and interactive bike tours for local exploration. Free bike repair clinics will be held monthly, starting June 26, to assist residents.
