Snow Wont Stop Everett Marchers Saturday

Everett, WALocal News

The "March For Our Lives" event is set for 1 PM on Saturday at the Snohomish County Campus in Everett, and organizers are moving forward despite the possibility of snow. This student-led initiative will showcase voices from local students and elected officials discussing the pressing issue of gun violence in schools. Schools across Snohomish County are invited to participate, and the League of Women Voters will be on-site to register voters. Meanwhile, the City of Everett has decided against purchasing the Snohomish Health District building, which had been under consideration for housing Public Works staff. City officials reported that this option would be more costly and time-consuming than alternative solutions.

The Health District's plans for acquiring new properties may also be impacted by this decision. Mayor Cassie Franklin highlighted the urgency of finding a low-cost, short-term workspace for Public Works employees. The city continues to evaluate various options for effective service delivery in the coming weeks.
