Construction alert 3rd Avenue Water Quality Treatment Project

Everett, WALocal News

The City of Everett is preparing to initiate construction on a new stormwater treatment facility that aims to replace an existing drainage ditch at the intersection of 97th Street SE and 3rd Avenue SE. This project, expected to commence in January 2025, is a significant step towards improving local water quality by effectively treating stormwater runoff to eliminate pollutants. Residents should be aware that construction activities will generate traffic and noise, along with partial closures of nearby roads. Despite these disruptions, emergency vehicle access will remain available to residents in the affected area. Property access will be preserved with minimal interruptions, although temporary water service shutdowns may be necessary.

The city acknowledges the potential inconveniences and expresses gratitude for residents' patience during this essential project. For any questions or concerns, Kathleen Baxter from the City’s Public Works department is available for contact. This initiative reflects Everett's commitment to environmental sustainability and community welfare.
