UPDATE - Suspect in mid-January stabbing arrested

On January 29, 2025, Andrew Freeman was arrested by the Everett Police Department as the suspect in a stabbing incident that occurred on January 16. The victim, a 13-year-old boy, was attacked near the 2500 block of Broadway, prompting immediate police action. Thanks to a community member's tip to 911, officers were able to locate Freeman and apprehend him without incident. Mayor Cassie Franklin expressed her appreciation for the police department's dedication and the community's involvement, noting that public safety is a shared responsibility. Police Chief John DeRousse echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of public assistance in identifying suspects.

The victim was reported to be in stable condition after being transported to Providence Regional Medical Center. Freeman will be booked into the Snohomish County Jail for Assault in the 1st Degree. The circumstances surrounding the initial attack remain under investigation, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
