Everett, WALocal News

The Everett Parks Department is inviting the community to a virtual meeting on January 23, 2025, from 6:30 to 7:30 p. m. to discuss the playground replacement project at Drew Nielsen Neighborhood Park. This meeting will present the results from a recent survey on playground design options, as well as proposed designs for the new play area. Community engagement is a focal point of the project, providing residents with the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback.

Located at the intersection of Colby Ave. and 13th St. , the park's current playground spans 2,711 sq. ft. and features rubber tile safety surfacing.

Importantly, the existing gazebo and arbor elements will be integrated into the new design, preserving some of the park's character. This project not only aims to enhance recreational offerings but also fosters community involvement in local development. Interested participants can find more details on the events calendar or reach out to Cory Rettenmier at 425. 257. 7314 or crettenmier@everettwa.
