911 Remembrance Events in the Everett Area

On September 11, 2025, Everett will commemorate the 9/11 attacks with three significant remembrance events. The 2nd Annual MONUMENTAL TALKS will center on the theme "Freedom & Family," featuring Mayor Joe Marine and local veteran speakers. Highlights include storytelling by Lt. Col. Dan Matthews and a live reading from the $1,500 high school essay contest winner.

Concurrently, Paine Field Airport will hold a community reflection ceremony from 8:30 to 10:00 AM, providing light refreshments afterward. At 9:11 AM, South County Fire will conduct a memorial ceremony at the Fallen Firefighter Memorial Park, showcasing a 1-ton beam from the World Trade Center. The ceremony will honor both 9/11 victims and South County Fire Captain Dean Warren, who died from occupational cancer. These events aim to foster community unity and resilience while remembering the sacrifices made by first responders. Together, they serve as a poignant reminder of the impact of 9/11 on local and national history.
