Everett Fire extinguishes Tuesday afternoon triplex fire

Everett, WALocal News

On September 3, 2024, at approximately 1:41 p. m. , the Everett Fire Department responded to a fire at a triplex located at Elm St and 45th St SW in the View Ridge Madison neighborhood. Upon arrival, Engine 4 encountered a rapidly spreading fire affecting both levels of the two-story structure. Firefighters initially engaged in offensive operations for 50 minutes before shifting to a defensive strategy due to structural safety concerns.

Thankfully, all residents managed to evacuate safely, but tragically, two family cats did not survive the incident. The fire inflicted significant damage, resulting in an extensive 70-minute firefighting operation, with additional support from Mukilteo Fire and South County Fire. An engine remained on-site to monitor and extinguish hotspots throughout the evening. The Everett Police assisted with traffic control and coordinated with the Red Cross for the displaced residents. This event serves as a critical reminder of the importance of smoke alarms and having a well-practiced family evacuation plan.
