City of Everett and partners help small businesses prepare for safe reopening

Everett, WALocal News

The City of Everett has taken proactive measures to support small businesses by launching the Getting to Safe Toolkit, in partnership with the Snohomish Health District. This toolkit is specifically designed to guide businesses in preparing for safe reopening as Snohomish County progresses through the governor's Safe Start plan. Mayor Cassie Franklin emphasized the importance of adhering to safety protocols, stating that while planning for recovery, businesses must recognize that it is not "business as usual. " The toolkit draws from recommendations provided by credible organizations, including Challenge Seattle, the Boston Consulting Group, and the Washington State Department of Health. Economic Development Director Dan Eernissee expressed that the toolkit aims to simplify the process for business owners, providing them with practical resources to efficiently prepare for reopening.

This initiative is part of a broader effort that includes the Everett CARES Grant Program and the Everett for Everett small business support website, launched earlier in the pandemic. The City of Everett is dedicated to ensuring a safe and effective recovery for the local economy. With these resources, small businesses can better navigate the complexities of reopening amidst ongoing health concerns.
