One injured after car crashes into building in North Everett

A serious car accident occurred on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Everett, WA, when a vehicle crashed into Althea's Footwear. The incident took place around 3:00 p. m. , as the car, traveling northbound on Broadway, crossed into oncoming traffic, struck a light pole, and penetrated the south wall of the store, which was fortunately closed at the time. The driver, a male in his mid-80s, was trapped inside the wreckage, leading to a technical rescue operation by the Everett Fire Department.

Firefighters utilized specialized equipment, including the "Jaws of Life," to carefully remove portions of the vehicle for access. After approximately 50 minutes, they successfully extricated the driver, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in stable condition. A structural engineer assessed the building's integrity, and Snohomish PUD was called to address the damaged light pole. Northbound Broadway was closed during the incident, creating significant traffic disruptions. The Everett Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
