Everett School Board Director Caroline Mason Resigns After 11 Years of Service

Everett, WALocal News

After 11 years of impactful service, Caroline Mason has resigned from her role as School Board Director for Everett Public Schools, with her resignation accepted during a board meeting on March 11, 2025. Mason's commitment to student success and community leadership was recognized by her peers and Superintendent Dr. Ian Saltzman, who highlighted her legacy of service and advocacy. Over her tenure, she attended more than 460 board meetings and served in various capacities, including president and vice president, while pushing for state-level funding to enhance educational access. Mason's leadership was particularly significant during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she guided the district through remote learning and a smooth return to in-person classes.

Her advocacy extended beyond the board, as she volunteered with local non-profits and represented the school district at state and national conferences. Following her departure, the school board is actively seeking applicants for the vacant Director Position 3, encouraging interested candidates to apply by April 2, 2025. The new director will be sworn in during the regular board meeting on May 13, 2025, with a term ending in December 2027. Mason’s contributions have left a lasting impact on the district and the community she served.
