Suspect in mid-January stabbing arrested

On January 29, 2025, Everett Police arrested Andrew Freeman, the suspect in a stabbing incident involving a 13-year-old boy on January 16. The arrest was made possible by a community member's tip, underscoring the critical role of public engagement in enhancing safety. Mayor Cassie Franklin expressed her heartbreak over the attack, highlighting her personal connection to the area. The stabbing took place near the 2500 block of Broadway, with the young victim receiving medical care and reported to be in stable condition. Freeman is charged with Assault in the 1st Degree and will be booked into Snohomish County Jail.
