Everett Fire extinguishes two house fires in Valley View neighborhood

Everett, WALocal News

A major house fire in Everett's Valley View neighborhood prompted a swift response from the Everett Fire Department, which arrived to find the structure fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters laid approximately 2,000 feet of supply line and coordinated efforts with Snohomish PUD and Puget Sound Energy to address power and gas hazards caused by a blown transformer. Despite their efforts, two firefighters sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the operation, with one requiring hospital transport. Fortunately, all residents evacuated the homes unscathed, while the American Red Cross stepped in to assist five to six displaced individuals. Tragically, one cat was rescued, but a second was found deceased amid the wreckage.

The extensive damage included a roof collapse in the primary home and partial collapse in the neighboring property. The fire serves as a stark reminder of the importance of having working smoke alarms, which provide vital early warning for residents. The incident is currently under investigation by the Everett Fire Marshal’s Office to determine its cause.
