Stabbing Suspect, Andrew Freeman Has Been Arrested

Andrew Freeman Jr. was taken into custody by Everett Police on January 29, 2025, after being identified as the suspect in a violent stabbing incident that occurred on January 16. Initially, Freeman had been arrested on unrelated charges on the same day as the stabbing but was later released. His evasion from law enforcement lasted 13 days, concluding with a tip from a community member who spotted him on a bus. The police quickly verified his identity and arrested him without any incidents.

Mayor Cassie Franklin expressed gratitude towards the police department and the community for their efforts in resolving the case. Everett Police Chief John DeRousse highlighted the significant role public assistance played in locating Freeman. He is now facing serious charges of Assault in the 1st Degree and is being held on a substantial bail of $2 million. This case illustrates the critical nature of community awareness and engagement in maintaining public safety.
