Car Chase Turns Into Foot Chase in Everett

Everett, WALocal News

A police chase that began in Monroe culminated in a foot pursuit in Everett when the suspect abandoned their vehicle at the US2 offramp. Initially, police terminated the chase under the assumption that the suspect had exited onto Highway 9 near Lake Stevens. However, by 9:45 PM, local law enforcement had encircled the area beneath the I-5 and US-2 interchange, as the suspect was already wanted for evading police. Efforts to utilize a drone were thwarted by foggy conditions, prompting the deployment of a K9 unit to assist in the search. Within an hour of the vehicle's abandonment, police successfully located the suspect near Consolidated Supply Co.

The suspect had crossed railroad tracks and sought refuge along the riverbank. This incident highlights the challenges law enforcement faces in high-speed pursuits and subsequent foot chases. The quick response from police and K9 units ultimately led to the suspect's arrest, ensuring community safety.
