Vehicle Drives Into Lake Stevens Resulting In Water Rescue

On November 1, 2024, emergency services responded to a vehicle that drove into Lake Stevens at the North Cove boat launch, resulting in a dramatic water rescue. At approximately 10:48 AM, Snohomish County 911 received the report, prompting immediate action from Deputy Wheeler and Officer Lanto, who were nearby. They entered the lake, dove down, and managed to retrieve the victim, a woman in her 70s, from the submerged vehicle. Shortly thereafter, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue medics and divers arrived on the scene and began resuscitation efforts, successfully restoring a pulse before transporting her to a local hospital. The vehicle was reported to be submerged about 20 yards from the launch, but the exact circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear.

Authorities are investigating how the vehicle ended up in the lake. The woman was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, and her condition has not been disclosed. This incident highlights the critical role of local emergency responders in life-threatening situations.
