Heart Bomb Planned for Historic Clark Park Gazebo Saturday
The City of Everett plans to remove the historic Clark Park Gazebo, leading local residents to organize a “Heart Bomb” event to show their support for the structure. The gathering will take place Saturday from noon to 1 PM, inviting the public to decorate the 103-year-old gazebo with hearts and garland. Prior to the announcement, the city was developing restoration plans that included adding historically appropriate shutters and a dog park to promote park activity. Andrea Tucker, President of Historic Everett, emphasized the importance of preserving such structures for community identity, stating, “We see a greater public benefit in preserving and maintaining historic structures. ” The gazebo, located at 2400 Lombard Avenue, serves as a vital gathering spot in the community.
This event not only raises awareness about the gazebo's potential removal but also fosters community engagement. Historic preservation efforts like this reflect a growing desire among residents to maintain local heritage in Everett. The Heart Bomb event showcases the community's commitment to preserving their history and character.
