Everett Police Share Video of Crazy Burning Car Rescue at Everett Mall Way

On December 23, 2024, Sergeant Ross of the Everett Police responded to a collision involving a burning vehicle in the 1500 block of SE Everett Mall Way. The trapped driver was unresponsive, with the vehicle's accelerator pressed down, causing flames to engulf the car. Ross and other responders broke the driver's side window to pull the man to safety. After the rescue, the vehicle that had been holding the burning car in place moved, causing it to roll into a busy intersection. Another officer was able to steer the smoking vehicle off the road, averting a potential disaster.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers faced by first responders. According to the Everett Police, such quick actions can save lives in critical situations. Body cam footage from the incident offers a vivid look into the challenges officers navigate daily.
