GeekFest West Premieres In Everett This Summer

GeekFest West will take place in Downtown Everett from July 19 to July 21, 2024, celebrating geek culture and connecting fans across the Northwest. The event features a street fair, exhibit hall, and film festival, offering a variety of activities such as unique shopping experiences, cosplay showcases, and gaming tournaments. Mayor Cassie Franklin expressed her excitement about the event, noting its potential to introduce Everett's historic downtown and local businesses to thousands of visitors. Organizer Nathan Mumm highlighted the festival's distinctiveness, stating it combines multiple major events into one experience. Tickets will be affordably priced, starting at $10 per day, making it accessible to a broad audience.

GeekFest West aims to foster a sense of community and inclusivity, welcoming both seasoned fans and newcomers to geek culture. The festival also includes a film festival featuring short films across various genres, including sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. This celebration of local pride and creativity is poised to become a significant annual event in Everett.
