Resilience and strength 293 graduate from Mountlake Terrace HS
The graduation ceremony for 293 students at Mountlake Terrace High School took place on June 14 at Edmonds School District Stadium, marking a significant milestone as the first class to graduate without pandemic restrictions. Neela Lopez Hernandez, a senior and recipient of the State Seal of Biliteracy, delivered the welcome message in both English and Spanish. Principal Crosby Carpenter acted as the master of ceremonies, facilitating a celebration filled with encouragement and reflection. Haya Ibrahimy shared a heartfelt moment of gratitude for her family's sacrifices, emphasizing the importance of education and hope for girls denied that right. Minh Pham, the Associated Student Body President, spoke on forging authentic connections and the discomfort of personal growth.
Justin Ho, the Senior Class President, highlighted the resilience needed to face future disappointments and challenges. Valedictorian Brody Myers-Little reminded peers that life’s journey defines them more than any single achievement.
