Two events are set for June 14 in downtown Edmonds as part of nationwide No Kings Day demonstrations promoting democracy. The rally at Civic Park, featuring Rick Steves, local advocates, and community leaders, will take place from 10:30 a. m. to noon. Organizer Sharon Otness stated, "We’re meeting on June 14, Flag Day and Donald Trump’s birthday, to remind the country that this is a democracy, not a monarchy.

" Following the rally, a singalong at the Old Edmonds Opera House will run from 1 to 2:30 p. m. , led by Mary Sherhart. Participants will enjoy classic protest songs, with lyrics provided. A $20 donation is suggested, with proceeds supporting Snohomish County Indivisible.

The event also encourages attendees to bring non-perishable food for the local food bank. These events reflect a broader movement advocating for democratic values and community engagement.
