Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds City Council will conduct public hearings on June 10 at 6 p. m. regarding a middle housing code update and an interim ordinance aimed at protecting landmark trees. The interim ordinance, enacted on April 21, temporarily safeguards trees with a diameter of 30 inches or more while the council works on lasting regulations. Exemptions exist for trees already permitted or identified as hazardous.

During the meeting, the council will also consider budget scenarios, a request for a public works director candidate, and a six-year transportation improvement program. Additionally, an audit exit conference with the Washington State Auditor’s Office will occur earlier at 3 p. m. at Edmonds City Hall. Both meetings will be accessible virtually and streamed on local channels.

These discussions are crucial for local environmental policy and urban planning.
