Eagle Scout builds playground for dogs at Lynnwoods PAWS shelter

Edmonds, WALocal News

Rudransh Bhattacharya, a ninth grader from H. M. Jackson High School, constructed a playground for dogs at PAWS shelter in Lynnwood for his Eagle Scout project. The play structures, made from recycled tires and painted in PAWS’ colors, offer shelter dogs a chance to exercise while waiting for adoption. The project took over 350 hours to complete and engaged more than 30 volunteers, including fellow Eagle Scouts and family members.

Significant support came from local businesses, such as Les Schwab Tires and Dunn Lumber, which provided materials at discounted rates or as donations. Among the first to enjoy the new playground were Tang, a playful husky, and Daphne, a shelter dog since December. PAWS has a strong focus on promoting animal adoption and actively seeks volunteers and donations to support its mission. The successful completion of this project highlights the positive impact of community engagement in animal welfare. For more information on how to help, visit paws.
