History of Snohomish Pioneer Cemetery topic of June 4 Sno-Isle Genealogical Society meeting
The Sno-Isle Genealogical Society will welcome historian Taylor Russell on June 4 to discuss the Snohomish Pioneer Cemetery's intriguing past. Once deemed "lost and forgotten" by a judge in 1998, the cemetery has suffered from a lack of proper records and the disappearance of over 60 headstones since its founding in 1876. Russell has dedicated her research efforts to creating the most comprehensive burial list, highlighting the fascinating stories of over 300 of Snohomish County's early pioneers. The meeting will commence at 6:30 p. m.
at the Wickers Building, located at 19921 Poplar Way in Lynnwood. Additionally, Russell's talk will be streamed live on Zoom, making it accessible to a wider audience. Attendees can find connection details on the Sno-Isle Genealogy calendar. Russell, known for her passion for history and storytelling, represents a valuable local voice in preserving the area's heritage. Her work reflects a significant effort to recover and honor the stories of those who helped shape Snohomish County.
