Spark! Creativity inaugural fundraiser celebrates future of arts education

The Cascadia Art Museum hosted the inaugural Spark! the Future fundraiser on June 28, aimed at enhancing arts education for underserved youth through Spark! Creativity. The event showcased student artwork, local culinary offerings, and a silent auction featuring items from across Washington state. Tanya Sharp, the founder of Spark!

Creativity, reported that the nonprofit reached over 400 students in its first year, providing hands-on arts education. Artist Mona T. Smiley-Fairbanks emphasized the importance of creative expression in students' lives, recounting her 25 years of teaching experience. Guests enjoyed a vibrant atmosphere with music, balloons, and curated beverages, making it a memorable evening. Sharp expressed gratitude to sponsors and volunteers for their support in making the event a success.

She highlighted the critical need for arts education in schools, especially in communities with limited access. The evening concluded with a live auction to further support the nonprofit's mission.
